Coastal Cleanup Day 2010

On September 25, 2010, Epic Martial Arts students, together with members of the LPS San Jose community, joined forces with thousands of volunteers worldwide in support of International Coastal Cleanup Day. Our team assisted with local efforts at Hellyer County Park.

About Me (Greg Garcia)

I am a passionate educator, dynamic martial artist, and an advocate for transformational learning.

Currently, I am working to synthesize and synergize authentic philosophies and lifestyle elements of the martial arts world with the rigor and demands of the academic world. This work includes preparing students for the life which awaits them beyond their schooling.

The work I do is part of the mission of my association, the Academy of Martial Philosophy, a network of martial arts practitioners that are dedicated to the pursuit of mastery in daily life through the application of the martial arts ways.

The Academy's flagship program, Epic Martial Arts, is one of several projects designed to engage and transform local communities through applied martial philosophies.

These projects are inspired by my participation in "The Ultimate Black Belt Test", created by Tom Callos, one of the most progressive-thinking martial arts leaders in the industry.

Together, members of the UBBT are working to better themselves and to share a broader view of self-defense which is completely applicable and relevant to today's needs.

This blog serves as a chronicle of my improvement, reflections, struggles, brainstorms, projects, and musings as I progress towards the completion of my test.
